Yokozuna Cyber Defense is a cybersecurity advisory, technology evaluation, and implementation firm. We operate this website to provide cybersecurity intelligence, buyer resources, and advisory services to security professionals and organizations.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you:

• Download a research article, guide, or buyer resource (first name, last name, work email)
• Subscribe to the Yokozuna Cyber Brief newsletter (first name, work email)
• Submit a cybersecurity challenge or contact request (first name, email, company, description of your challenge)
• Apply to the Founding Technology Partner program (contact details and company information)
• Request technology pricing or a consultation

We also collect non-personal technical information automatically, including pages visited, referring URLs, and UTM parameters. This information is used to understand how visitors find and use the site. It is processed by our analytics provider (Umami) and does not include your name or email address.

Newsletter Subscriptions

Subscribing to the Yokozuna Cyber Brief is entirely optional and separate from downloading resources. You can download any article or guide without subscribing to the newsletter.

If you choose to subscribe, we use a double opt-in process: after submitting your email, you will receive a confirmation email. Your subscription is not active until you click the confirmation link.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email. Unsubscribing removes you from future newsletters but does not affect resources you have already downloaded.

We maintain a suppression record of unsubscribed contacts to ensure you are not accidentally re-added to the newsletter list.

Anti-Spam and Security Processing

All public forms on this website are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot-detection service that helps distinguish human visitors from automated submissions. Turnstile operates in managed mode, which means most legitimate visitors will not see a challenge. Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser signals to make this determination. We also apply server-side rate limiting to prevent abuse. Submissions from known disposable or temporary email services are rejected.

Analytics

This website uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics platform. Umami does not use cookies, does not track users across websites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. Analytics events on this site do not include your name, email address, or any other personal data.

Data Retention

We retain contact and lead event records to maintain a history of your interactions with Yokozuna and to avoid sending duplicate communications. Consent records are retained indefinitely as an auditable history of your subscription preferences. We do not retain records beyond what is necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
